In Greek mythology, Zeuxippe was a Naiad (water nymph), the daughter of Eridanus and the wife of Pandion by whom she bore twin sons; Erechtheus and Butes and two daughters; Procne and Philomela.

HMS Naiad was a British second-class cruiser of 3400 tons displacement launched in 1890. The name entered the British navy with the capture of the French Naiade in April 1783.

HMS Naiad was a British Dido Class cruiser of 5450 tons displacement launched in 1939. HMS Naiad was powered by Admiralty 3-drum type boilers providing a top speed of 33 knots. Armaments consisted of ten 5.25-inch guns, six mounted in three twin super firing turrets and four aft; sixteen smaller guns and six 21-inch torpedo tubes arranged in two triples. One aircraft was also carried.

HMS Naiad was a British Leander Class frigate of 2500 tons displacement built by Yarrow and launched in 1963 and decommissioned in 1987. She was armed with two quad Seacat missile launchers; two 40 mm anti-aircraft guns; one Ikara and one Limbo anti-submarine mortar. She carried a Wasp helicopter and carried a complement of 257.
