The UR-416 was a West German four-wheeled armoured personnel carrier developed during the 1960s from the civilian Unimog vehicle. The UR-416 was manned by a crew of two and carried eight passengers protected by 9 mm thick armour and armed with a 7.62 mm machine-gun. A Daimler-Benz OM 352 six- cylinder diesel engine provided a top speed of 85 kmh and a range of 700 km. Exported models are widely used in riot-control duties, being fitted with public address systems.
