PAIGNTON

Paignton (recorded in the Domesday Book as Peintone) is a town and former village in Devon, England. Paignton was a large village - called Paington - until the middle of the 19th century when it was developed as a huge seaside resort because of its sandy beaches, and the spelling of the name changed to Paignton by the railway company.

Tor Bay is an almost semicircular inlet on the south coast of Devon, England. It is about 7 km across between Hope's Nose and Berry Head and penetrates 5.5 km inland. On the shores of Tor Bay stand Torquay, Paignton and Brixton.
