CONFLICT

Conflict are a British-based anarchist organisation primarily directed by Colin Jerwood, mainly known for their musical statements. Conflict were formed in 1980, with an isolated approach to other sympathetic groups and individuals which contributed to their inactivity during the later 1990s. However, in 2000 Conflict once more became active and started releasing records again with lyrics which promote peaceful ideals of social change - opposing war, violence, corruption, corporate control of the media, globalisation and the exploitation of both people and animals - in a very rowdy style of punk rock music.

MOHICAN

A mohican is a hairstyle originating with one particular family group of Omahas of the American plains who cut their children's hair in a style symbolising the back hair of a plains buffalo as it stood against the skyline. The mohican hair cut properly comprises just an erect ridge of hair running from the nape of the neck to the forehead. The English name 'mohican' was given to the distinctive hairstyle displayed by the Indians in the popular 1971 BBC television mini series 'The Last of the Mohicans' based upon James Fenimore Cooper's novel, and the style was adopted by some followers of the Punk rock movement from about 1978 onwards. Really it should be called an 'Omaha'.
