The quadratus femoris, as its name implies, is quadrilateral (square) in shape. It is a short, flat muscle that originates from the upper lip of the ischium (hip) and runs horizontally to the upper part of the femur. It is innervated by the sacral plexus and supplied by the inferior gluteal artery. This muscle helps rotate the thigh. Research Quadratus Femoris
