Sir Tatton Sykes was an English racehorse breeder. He was born in 1772 and died in 1863. Educated at Westminster School and Brasenose College, Oxford he was noted as a breeder of horses and sheep and as a master of foxhounds.

NATIONAL VELVET

National Velvet is a drama starring Mickey Rooney, Donald Crisp, Elizabeth Taylor, Anne Revere, Angela Lansbury and Jackie Jenkins in a story about a young woman who wins a racehorse in a raffle and asks a former jockey to train it for entry into the Grand National, only to find her family can not afford the race entrance fee. National Velvet was directed by Clarence Brown in 1944.

HMS Racehorse was a British Rotherham Class destroyer of 1705 tons displacement launched in 1942. HMS Racehorse was powered by two Admiralty 3-drum type boilers providing a top speed of 34 knots. She was armed with four 4.7 inch guns; four 2 pdr pom-pom guns; eight 20 mm anti-aircraft guns and eight 21 inch torpedo tubes.
