Armbrust (Crossbow) is a German man-portable, shoulder-fired, recoilless, disposable anti-tank weapon. Armbrust fires a 67 mm calibre HEAT round with a muzzle velocity of 220 metres per second to a range of 300 metres and can penetrate more than 300 mm of armour. Armbrust was designed as a low signature short-range anti-tank and self-defence weapon, the key features being its low signature achieved by emitting no smoke, no flash or blast and being relatively quiet. This low signature means that the gunner can usually escape detection and can remain in the same location.
