REGIUM DONUM

Regium donum was a sun of 1200 pounds per annum granted by William III to the Presbyterian clergy of Ireland as a reward for the active measures they took against James II. After various vicissitudes it was abolished in 1871, after the Irish Church was disestablished, but compensation was granted to the clergy who had a claim upon the annuity.
