The sella turcia or pituitary fossa, is a deep depression on the surface of the body of the sphenoid bone, where the pituitary body sits. It is named the sella turcica after its shape which is similar to a turkishsaddle. This depression contains a number of foramina, or small openings, through which a number of small vessels bring nutrients to the pituitary gland. Research Sella Turcica
