The Lipizzaner is a Slovenian breed of show horse now also used for light draft and farm work. The Lipizzaner originated at the Lipica stud in Slovenia from 1580. The Lipizzaner stands between 15.1 and 16.2 hands high and is a long lived, easy to train breed which matures during its twenties. Originally bred to be white in colour, they are now grey or occasionally bay in colour.
