The BRDM-2 is a Soviet armoured scout car used for reconnaissance and command roles. It carries a crew of two and has room for up to four passengers. The BRDM-2 has a top speed of 62 mph and is armed with a 14.5 mm heavy machine gun and a coaxial 7.62 mm machine-gun and carries three Snapper or six Sagger anti-tank guided missiles.

Snapper was the NATO codename for the Soviet 3M6 infantry wire-guided light anti-tank missile of the 1960's. Snapper was 113 cm long, with a body diameter of 14 cm and was carried on a quadruple launcher on the GAZ-69 light cross-country vehicle and later on a triple mounting on BRDM armoured vehicles. Snapper had a range of between 500 metres and 2700 metres and flew at a speed of 323 kmh. Snapper was armed with a hollow charge warhead and could penetrate 1350 mm of armour.

HMS Snapper was a British Sealion Class submarine of 670 tons displacement launched in 1934 and sunk during the Second World War. She was armed with one 3-inch gun; one machine-gun and six 21-inch torpedo tubes in the bow. She had a top speed of 13.75 knots surfaced and 10 knots submerged and carried a complement of 40.

USS Snapper was an American Salmon Class submarine of 1445 tons displacement launched in 1937 which saw action during the Second World War. USS Snapper was powered by diesel engines and was armed with one 3-inch gun, one anti-aircraft machine-gun, four 21-inch bow torpedo tubes and four 21 inch stern torpedo tubes. She was manned by a crew of 55.
