In Greek mythology, Telegonus was a son of Odysseus by the enchantressCirce. When he grew to manhood his mother sent him out into the world to find his father. Shipwrecked on the coast of Ithaca, began to ravage the country. Odysseus and his son Telemachus went to meet the stranger, and ignorant of his father's identity, Telegonus killed Odysseus.
