A sulky was an American, light, two-wheeled horse-drawn vehicle with a seat for a single occupant. They were used as pleasure-carriages and also for trials of speed between trotting-horses.

The American Shetland is an American bread of trotting pony which developed from 75 Shetland ponies imported to the USA in 1885. The Original Shetland ponies were cross-bred with Hackney ponies and later with small Arabians and small Thoroughbreds to develop a distinct breed of pony with a muscular arched neck, a long and narrow back, broad muscular hindquarters and unusually high withers, standing to about 11 hands high and of a generally good temperament.

The Hackney Pony (formerly known as the Wilson Pony) is an English breed of pony developed by Christopher Wilson during the 19th century from a stallion which was a Norfolk Roadster and Yorkshire Trotter cross mated with Fell Pony mares. The Hackney Pony stands 12 to 14 hands high, is black, bay, chestnut or brown coloured and has outstanding trotting abilities, with a highly exaggerated gait.

The Lithuanian Heavy Draft is a Lithuanian breed of heavy horse originating from the end of the 19th century, but first registered in 1963. The
Lithuanian Heavy Draft stands 15 to 16 hands high and is bay, black, grey, chestnut or roam in colour with a flowing mane. The Lithuanian Heavy Draft is remarkable for its resistance to the cold, its good walking and trotting gait, long life span, fertility, quiet nature and strength which makes them well suited to heavy draft and agricultural work.

The Missouri Fox Trotting Horse is an American breed of horse developed during the 1820s in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas and Missouri. The
Missouri Fox Trotting Horse has a trotting gait in which the horse walks in the front and has a sliding trot action behind, resulting in a very comfortable ride and the ability to travel for long periods of time. The
Missouri Fox Trotting Horse stands between 14.2 and 16.2 hands high and is mostly chestnut in colour with white markings. They are a very quiet and amenable horse, well suited to being ridden by children.

The Morab is an American breed of easy going, calm and friendly riding horse first developed as a cross between the Morgan Horse and the Arabian Horse breeds during the 19th century. The Morab stands between 14.1 and 15.2 hands high and is any colour, but not spotted. The Morab is also suited to light draft and harness work, as well as trotting and riding.

The Russian Heavy Draft is a Ukranian breed of heavy horse developed around 1860 at Khrenov and Derkul where local mares were bred with imported Ardennes stallions. The Russian Heavy Draft stands 14.3 hands high and is usually chestnut in colour, strawberry roam or bay coloured. The breed is renowned for its strong pulling ability and fast gait when walking or trotting, which coupled with their excellent temperament makes them popular riding horses.
