The ulnar vein can be divided into three sections: the common ulnar, the anterior ulnar, and the posterior ulnar veins. The common ulnar vein is short and thick and formed by a junction of the anterior and posterior ulnar veins. The presence of the common ulnar vein varies form person to person. The anterior ulnar vein extends along the ulna to the elbow joint, where it joins the posterior ulnar vein to form the common ulnar. If the common ulnar is not present it joins directly with the median basilic vein. The posterior ulnar vein runs along the posterior surface of the ulna to the elbow joint where it joins with the common ulnar vein or the median basilic vein. Research Ulnar Vein
