The Schipperke is a Belgian breed of tailless dog about 30 centimetres tall and usually black in colour. They are exceedingly vivacious, inquisitive and alert, and make excellent watch-dogs - formerly being used by Belgian barge owners for just this purpose.

Madeleine Sophie Arnould was a French actress and opera singer. She was born in 1740 (or 1744) at Paris and died in 1802. She made her debut in 1757, appearing at the Grand Opera House, Paris, and won instant popularity for her beauty and vivacious wit.

Vivacious Lady is a comedy starring James Stewart and Ginger Rogers in a story about a naive academic impulsively marrying a nightclub singer and then having to face both his ex-fiancee and his dominating father. It was directed by George Stevens in 1938.

HMS Vivacious was a British V Class destroyer of 1090 tons displacement launched in 1917. She was armed with four 4-inch guns; one 2-pounder pompom anti-aircraft gun; one machine gun; four Lewis guns and six 21-inch torpedo tubes arranged in two triple mountings added during modifications carried out in 1920. She was powered by three Yarrow oil boilers providing a top speed of 34 knots and carried a complement of 134.
