The spindle tree or wahoo tree (Euonymus eruopaeus) is a small tree of the natural order Celastraceae native to Europe, western Siberia and north Africa. It grows to a height of about six meters, and has smooth grey bark and four-angled twigs. The opposite, lance-shaped leaves have obscurely toothed edges, and the flowers are minute and greenish-white in colour. The fruit is a four-lobed capsule of a crimson hue, which opens to disclose the orange jackets of the few large seeds. The timber is hard and used for making small articles. Research Spindle Tree
