The Bell D2127 (US Navy designation X-22A) was a tilting duct VTOL research aircraft developed by Bell for the US navy during the early 1960's, and first displayed in 1965. The X-22A was a cantilever monoplane with wings mounted at the rear of the fuselage, each with a tilting duct built into the leading-edge. The X-22A was powered by four General Electric YT58-GE-8D shaft turbine engines providing a top speed of 523 kmh and an endurance of two hours flying time.
