The American Helicopter XA-8 (US Army designation XH-26) was a single-seater pulse-jet driven collapsible lightweight helicopter designed for Army observation and reconnaissance duties first flown in 1952. The XA-8 was designed to be air-dropped in a small package, and then field assembled by two men in about twenty minutes. Assembled, the XA-8 had a top speed of 128 kmh and an endurance of 1.5 hours flying time.
