KUN YANG

The Kun Yang is an American built Taiwanese Fletcher Class destroyer of 2100 tons displacement launched in 1943 as the USS Yarnall. The Kun Yang is powered by two geared turbines providing a top speed of 35 knots and a range of 3750 miles at 14 knots. She carries a crew of 270 and is armed with one triple and two single arrangements of Hsiung Feng I surface-to-surface missiles; one Sea Chapparal quad anti-aircraft missile launcher firing the AIM-9 (Sidewinder) missile; twin USN 5 inch/38 Mk 38 guns; one OTO Melara 76 mm/62 gun; two triple arrangements of 324 mm US Mk 32 torpedo tubes taking the Honeywell Mk 46 torpedo; two Mk 10 24-tubed fixed 'Hedgehog' anti-ship mortars, depth charges and mines.

YARNALL

The USS Yarnall was an American Fletcher Class destroyer of 2050 tons displacement built under the 1940-41 programme. The USS Yarnall was powered by four Babcock and Wilcox boilers providing a top speed of 36 knots. She carried a complement of 353 and was armed with five 5 inch guns; six 40 mm Bofors anti-aircraft guns; ten 20 mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft guns and ten 21 inch torpedo tubes arranged in two quintuplets.
