Yellow copperas (copiapite) is a yellow coloured secondary mineral of the copiapite group. A hydrous sulphate of iron it is formed through the oxidation of iron sulphide deposits and is associated with pyrite. Externally the crystals appear in tabular shapes, in plate-like aggregates of micro crystals, or in powdery encrustations on the surface of rocks and other minerals. Research Yellow Copperas
