A zoot suit is a suit consisting of a knee-length, padded shoulder jacket, knee-length watch chain and high-waisted tapering floppy trousers often accompanied by a pork-pie hat or sombrero. The zoot suit was popular during the 1940's as part of the jazz culture particularly among men of Afro-Caribbean origin.
