What Makes The Probert Encyclopaedia Special

The Probert Encyclopaedia is unlike any other encyclopaedia you have ever seen in print or on the internet. The author is staunchly independent and does not regurgitate dominant ideas and beliefs, but researches widely and publishes the facts. This has always been a controversial and indeed dangerous occupation. Copernicus and Galileo were both persecuted for stating that the earth was round and travelled around the sun, even though everyone "knew" that the earth was flat and the center of the solar system. Darwin was slated for his theory of evolution, at the time every one knew that the bible was correct and that mankind was created by god, and did not evolve from an ape-like animal. Today, if the author stated the truth about the religion of Islam he would run the risk of being hunted down and executed - Islam accepts no criticism. Similarly to criticise Scientology has serious implications and risks.

Using Pictures

You may use any of the pictures in The Probert Encyclopaedia in your own projects. But, you should not link directly to pictures served from our web server from your web site. Instead, copy the pictures you want to your own web server. We do monitor requests to our web server, and regularly change the names of pictures, so if you are linking directly to a picture you may find it changes from what you expect to an advert for The Probert Encyclopaedia, or simply does not display any longer.

Where is it Hosted?

The Probert Encyclopaedia is hosted on its own virtual server at www.probertencyclopaedia.com, with a UK gateway at www.probert-encyclopaedia.co.uk.
Other sites you find on the web are unofficial hosts of an early public domain edition of the Probert Encyclopaedia released through the Simtel network of freeware and shareware.

Is there a family version?

No. Probert Publishing supply information on all topics and matters about the world and the universe in which we live in an objective, mature and open-minded manner. Some topics some people may consider unsuitable for children, we believe it is the responsibility of parents and guardians to censor or not their children's education. It is certainly not appropriate for us to tell you what you can and cannot read about.

Errors and Omissions?
